Leh, Ladakh struck by magnitude 3.5 earthquake

A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck Leh, the capital of Ladakh, at 8:25 AM IST on Monday, August 24, 2026. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the tremor occurred at a depth of 120 km.

This follows a series of seismic activities in the region. On Sunday, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake was recorded in Leh at a depth of 150 km. Additionally, a magnitude 3.0 earthquake struck the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh at 3:40 AM on Monday, occurring at a depth of 8 km.
