Leica launches Lux 2.0 iPhone app update with Steve McCurry look

Leica Camera AG has released Leica Lux 2.0, a major update to its iPhone photography application. A central feature of the update is the introduction of a new ‘Artist Look’ created in collaboration with renowned travel photographer Steve McCurry. Rather than a simple filter, Leica describes the McCurry look as a specific processing preset that adjusts color reproduction and contrast to emulate his signature warm, saturated style.

The update includes a redesigned user interface that aligns more closely with the Leica Fotos app, featuring a new gallery interface, a filmstrip for shot selection, and a grid view for managing images. The app also introduces new icons inspired by classic Leica camera models. For advanced users, the software allows for manual control over focus, exposure, ISO, and white balance, and provides direct integration with mobile editing tools such as Adobe Lightroom and Capture One.

Leica Lux 2.0 is optimized for the latest iPhone hardware, including the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. While the app is part of a subscription model, it continues to offer a free basic version with limited features and looks.
