Leicester and Bolton dog attacks prompt police investigations

Two children, aged six and eleven, were mauled by a dog while playing on a playground on Vernon Street near Newfoundpool in Leicester on April 19. They suffered bite wounds to their legs and thighs and were taken to hospital for treatment. Leicestershire Police have released CCTV images and appealed for the public to identify a woman they believe may have information about the incident.

In a separate incident on July 29, three people were injured in a suspected dog bite on Barrie Way in Bolton. Armed police, an air ambulance, and paramedics responded, and the dog was seized by police units. Greater Manchester Police confirmed the injuries and that investigations remain ongoing, with no arrests made so far.
