Leicester Tigers defeat Newcastle Red Bulls 24-19
Leicester Tigers secured a 24-19 away victory against Newcastle Red Bulls at Kingston Park in Gallagher Premiership action. Despite an early try from Newcastle’s Obi Ene, Leicester established a 17-5 lead by halftime following tries from Samuela Moli and Adam Radwan, alongside successful conversions and a penalty from Billy Searle.
Newcastle attempted a comeback in the second half with a try from Brett Connon and a late score from Cam Jordan. However, Leicester maintained their lead after a Will Hurd try and continued conversions by Searle. Billy Searle was named player of the match for his performance.
Prior to the match, Newcastle head coach Dan McFarland noted the tactical shift required to face Leicester’s set-piece and aerial focus compared to previous opponents. He also commented on the league's high-scoring trend, attributing increased try counts to recent officiating and 'escort' laws that favor unstructured attacking play.
