Leiderdorp to Replace Faulty Parking Barriers After Resident Complaints
The municipality of Leiderdorp will hold an information evening on 30 June to explain the replacement of the movable parking barriers (pollers) on the Dubloen and Obool streets. The barriers have been out of service for years, causing recurring parking complaints from residents. Earlier repairs in 2021 and 2024 proved ineffective, and a full replacement was deemed necessary. The new pollers use a different control system, requiring the municipality to set up a new management platform that links hand‑transmitters to emergency services, ensuring unobstructed access for fire, police and ambulance crews. The council acknowledged the need for earlier communication and aims to reduce parking nuisance while maintaining safety for responders.
