Leidos expands manufacturing and secures $95M Pentagon AI contract

Defense contractor Leidos is significantly expanding its operations and technological capabilities. The company has nearly tripled its manufacturing workforce in Huntsville, Alabama, over the last three and a half years to support missile production. To bolster its talent pipeline, Leidos has invested $1.75 million to establish an advanced manufacturing training center at a local vocational school.

Additionally, Leidos has been awarded a $95 million, five-year contract by the Defense Logistics Agency. The company will integrate artificial intelligence and cloud tools into the Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS), a Pentagon platform used to track over 80 million items of government property valued at more than $140 billion. This contract, which runs through August 2031, aims to increase system speed, security, and update frequency.
