Leidy Flórez, 29, dies after falling from 13th floor of Zafiro tower in Piedecuesta

A 29‑year‑old woman identified as Leidy Flórez died after falling from the 13th floor of Tower I in the Zafiro residential building in the municipality of Piedecuesta, Santander, Colombia, on Sunday, 2 August. Authorities say she may have been locked out of her apartment, attempted to enter through a window, lost her balance and fell to her death.

The Metropolitan Police of Bucaramanga and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) conducted a technical inspection, collected evidence and interviewed residents. The body was transferred to the National Institute of Legal Medicine for autopsy. Residents expressed concern over the lack of security cameras in the building and have demanded explanations from the administration while the investigation continues.
