Leigh Leopards confirm multiple player departures and retirement

Leigh Leopards have confirmed several player departures as the club prepares for the 2027 Super League season. Five players will leave the club at the conclusion of the 2026 season: Isaac Liu, Robbie Mulhern, Ben McNamara, Bailey Hodgson, and Owen Trout.

Mulhern and McNamara are set to join Castleford Tigers, while Hodgson will move to Hull FC. Owen Trout will transition to the NRL, having signed a two-year deal with the Cronulla Sharks in Australia. Additionally, veteran Jack Hughes will retire from professional rugby league at the end of the season.

The club expressed appreciation for the commitment and professionalism shown by the departing athletes. While these exits mark significant changes for the squad, the omission of players such as Gareth O’Brien, Matty Davis, and Ryan Brown from the official departure list suggests they may remain with the club.
