Leinster Rugby begins search for Leo Cullen's successor

Leinster Rugby has officially begun the search for a new head coach to succeed Leo Cullen, who will depart following the conclusion of the 2026/27 season. CEO Shane Nolan stated that the club has been “incredibly impressed” with the high calibre of interest received since the announcement.

Because Cullen provided over a year of notice, the recruitment process is being handled without immediate time pressure. The club is focusing on defining specific criteria regarding skills, expertise, and attributes before finalizing a shortlist. The search is being conducted in collaboration with the IRFU, with Performance Director David Humphreys involved in the decision-making process.

Nolan noted that the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia may influence the timeline, but confirmed that candidates currently involved with international teams are not ruled out from consideration.
