Leioa begins 2 million euro urban regeneration in Pinueta

The Leioa City Council has launched a strategic urban regeneration project in Pinueta with an investment of nearly 2 million euros. The works focus on redeveloping Plaza Cervantes, Calle Maiatzaren Bata, and a section of Calle Nafarroa to improve public spaces, green areas, and pedestrian mobility.

The project aims to transform Plaza Cervantes into a more open and versatile space by differentiating areas for staying, children's play, and pedestrian routes. Additionally, sidewalk expansions will prioritize foot traffic and promote calmer mobility by reducing vehicle presence. A proposed underground parking lot was discarded during the planning phase due to technical feasibility issues related to the terrain.
