Leipzig evening market family activities regional food live music

The Leipzig Abendmarkt took place on Thursday, 23 July 2026, in front of the Old Town Hall. The event offered a family‑friendly programme, including a fire‑brigade vehicle and information booths on fire safety and youth work.

Live music was provided by singer‑songwriter Max Schrut and Heinrich Herzog playing the bagpipes. The initiative Zukunftsmarkt promoted regional agriculture under the motto “Gute Wahl Regional”, offering interactive stations where visitors could shake butter, solve a vegetable quiz, spin a wheel of fortune and sample local food products.

The market ran from 16:00 to 21:00 and will recur on the fourth Thursday of each month through August, with the final edition scheduled for 27 July. It runs alongside the regular weekly market that continues its usual hours from 09:00 to 17:00.
