Authorities have discovered a third drone in the Kabelsketal region, west of the airport. Near this site, BKA criminal technicians found approximately 50 grams of Hexogen, a highly explosive military-grade substance. Other drones were reported on airport grounds, and one may have collided with a DHL aircraft.

The BKA State Security is conducting the investigation under the direction of Federal Prosecutor Jens Rommel. While security circles suggest Russian intelligence involvement, Russia has denied any responsibility for the incident.
