Leipzig and Nordsachsen report arson suspicions and fatal accident

Multiple incidents were reported in the Leipzig and Nordsachsen regions of Germany. In Leipzig-Lausen-Grünau, a basement fire in a multi-family residential building caused a power outage and damaged water lines. Authorities are investigating the incident under suspicion of arson, noting that smoke had been detected in the same building previously.

In Leipzig-Thekla, an attempt was made to set fire to a mobile speed enforcement trailer on Wodanstraße. The fire damaged a tire and the device's casing, resulting in approximately 3,000 euros in damages. Police are investigating the matter as property damage by fire.

Additionally, a fatal traffic accident occurred on Wednesday midday on the C7440 highway between Zaasch and Serbitz, involving a 62-year-old female driver.
