Leipzig Autobahn interchange: A38 and A72 connections closed

Four connections at the Leipzig Autobahn interchange between the A38 and A72 are closed due to roadwork. The closures, which began on a Monday evening, are expected to last until November 6, 2026, as Autobahn GmbH renovates the road surfaces.

While the interchange itself remains passable, specific ramps in the southern section are affected. Drivers attempting to switch between the A38 and A72 toward destinations such as Dresden, Chemnitz, or Leipzig must use designated detours. Specifically, traffic moving from the A38 to the A72 is diverted via the Leipzig-Südost junction, while traffic from the A72 to the A38 toward Leipzig and Dresden is directed via the A38 toward Göttingen before turning at the Leipzig-Neue Harth junction.
