Leipzig hosts 18th Family Games Festival at New Town Hall
The 18th Family Games Festival is taking place at the New Town Hall, continuing a tradition of community engagement that began in 2008. The event aims to bring together people of all generations through play, movement, and discovery.
A central highlight of the festival is the presentation of the Family Friendliness Award. This year, the award focuses on the theme of ‘Engagement for equal opportunity and against child poverty,’ honoring initiatives that promote social inclusion and improve life for families in Leipzig. In addition to innovation and recognition awards, a public prize will be awarded based on on-site guest voting.
The festival program includes various activities for children and families, such as a robotics lab, a Lego building station, a scavenger hunt, and a costume rental service. The event features performances by students from the Johann Sebastian Bach Music School and aims to foster conversation and connection among participants.
