Leipzig students return to school amid heavy rain forecasts

The school year is commencing in Leipzig, with over 60,000 students returning to classrooms. At the Johanneum school, the new term includes the introduction of the 'itslearning' platform to replace the OX system, alongside a revised reading concept and various upcoming events such as the Math Olympiad and federal youth games.

Weather forecasts for the region indicate a period of significant precipitation. The German Weather Service (DWD) has warned of heavy rainfall, potential hail, and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour in Saxony. While rain is expected to continue through much of the week, a stabilization of weather conditions is anticipated toward the weekend.
