The 2026 summer reading programs in Leipzig, Buchsommer Junior and Buchsommer Sachsen, have concluded with high participation rates among children and adolescents.

In the Buchsommer Junior program, 758 children read a total of 2,456 books. Of these participants, 513 children read at least three books to earn certificates during a closing ceremony at the city library.

The Buchsommer Sachsen program for adolescents saw 447 students read 1,482 books. Among them, 247 participants met the requirement of reading three or more books to receive certificates, celebrated at a closing event in Moritzbastei.
