Leipzig to host KGSt-Forum 2026 municipal congress
The KGSt-Forum 2026, Germany’s largest municipal specialist congress, is scheduled to take place from September 16 to 18, 2026, at the Leipzig Trade Fair and Congress Center.
The three-day event will focus on critical challenges in municipal management, including maintaining operational capacity despite resource scarcity, recruitment, and digitalization. The program includes approximately 120 events, workshops, and keynotes organized into six thematic areas: leadership and organizational culture, personnel development, budget stabilization, sustainable processes, innovation and AI, and strategic management.
In addition to traditional formats, the forum will feature dialogue-oriented sessions such as a 360-degree talk arena and a workshop area called the KGSt-Playground. A trade fair with roughly 180 partners will showcase solutions for the public sector, including digital applications and consulting services. New additions to the event include an innovation quarter featuring 22 start-ups and a dedicated area for the KGSt science network. The city of Leipzig will serve as an active co-host, contributing expertise and local practical insights.
