Leipzig to host Radnacht cycling event on August 28
The 2026 Stadtradeln event will commence with the Leipzig Radnacht on August 28. The event is expected to involve more than 5,000 participants cycling through the city on an approximately eleven-kilometer route. The course begins at Clara-Zetkin-Park, travels via the B2 in southern Leipzig, moves through the city center ring and past the stadium, and returns to the park.
City officials, including Culture Mayor Dr. Skadi Jennicke and Environment Mayor Heiko Rosenthal, highlighted the event as a demonstration of Leipzig's commitment to climate-friendly urban planning and cycling infrastructure. The initiative aims to showcase a vision for a livable, bicycle-friendly city while contributing to local climate goals by reducing CO2 emissions through increased cycling.
