Leipziger Lehrerchor celebrates 150th anniversary with concert
The Leipziger Lehrerchor is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Founded in 1876 by eleven men, the ensemble has evolved from a traditional men's choir into a contemporary group of approximately 50 singers.
To mark the milestone, a festive concert will be held on Friday, October 2, at 17:30 in the Alte Börse at Naschmarkt. The performance will be led by Kristian Sörensen on piano and will feature soloist Alba Vilar and the Seume Quartett, composed of members from the MDR Rundfunkchor.
Expected guests include Skadi Jennicke, the Commissioner for Culture, along with representatives from the Saxon and Leipzig Choral Associations. A reception will follow the concert.
