Leire Iglesias appointed Spain's Secretary of State for Housing

The Spanish government has announced leadership changes within the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda. Leire Iglesias, the current president of the state housing entity Casa 47, has been appointed as the new Secretary of State for Housing and Urban Agenda. She succeeds David Lucas, who passed away on July 20.

To fill the vacancy left by Iglesias at Casa 47, Maribel Ramos has been appointed as the new president of the entity. Ramos previously served as the General Director of the Affordable Housing Park within the organization.

Casa 47, which resulted from the transformation of the former Sepes, is a key state instrument for promoting and managing affordable public housing. The entity has seen significant expansion, with reported allocations of 2,080 million euros and dozens of active projects across Spain aimed at increasing the public housing stock.
