Leire Martínez sparks controversy with Braun ad referencing La Oreja de Van Gogh

Former La Oreja de Van Gogh vocalist Leire Martínez has sparked controversy with a new Braun advertising campaign titled ‘Ir por libre’ (Going Solo). The commercial features visual references that fans have linked to the band’s past, including a scene reminiscent of the cover art for the 2003 album ‘Lo que te conté mientras te hacías la dormida’ and imagery of withered roses, which many associate with the hit song ‘Rosas’.

During recent La Oreja de Van Gogh concerts in Madrid, attendees reported seeing Braun promotional fans distributed at the show. In response to the ongoing tension, current lead singer Amaia Montero reportedly modified the lyrics of ‘El último vals’ during a performance, adding the line ‘and let it end already, please’. While fans have interpreted this as a response to Martínez, Montero has not officially confirmed the intent behind the lyrical change.
