Leiria approves €1.2M for municipal building repairs

The Leiria municipal executive has approved a direct contract totaling €1,196,476.19 (plus VAT) to repair structural damage to the Paços do Concelho building. The works, expected to take 270 days, follow a series of storms that compromised the building's watertightness.

Planned interventions include the restoration of the Noble Hall's stucco ceiling, anti-xylophagous treatments, and the recovery of flooring and interior openings. Significant work will also be conducted on the roof of the oldest section of the building to address widespread tile degradation and improve drainage and waterproofing systems.
