GNR launches Todos os Santos operation in Portugal
The Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) has initiated operation “Todos os Santos” 2026, which runs from October 30 to November 1. The operation targets high-traffic roads across mainland Portugal to reduce accidents, ensure traffic fluidity, and support travelers during the All Saints Day period.
Personnel from the Territorial Commands and the National Traffic Unit will conduct coordinated policing, road inspections, and crime prevention efforts. The GNR has issued safety recommendations for motorists, emphasizing the importance of following traffic rules, using seatbelts and child restraint systems, avoiding mobile phone use while driving, and refraining from consuming alcohol or psychotropic substances.
