Leiria hosts Prove Leiria Doçaria pastry festival

The Prove Leiria Doçaria event returns to the Mercado de Santana in Leiria, running from Friday through Sunday. The festival features specialties from ten pastry shops and seven confectioneries from the municipality.

A central component of the event is the ‘Escolha Doce dos Leirienses’ competition, where participants were challenged to create an original specialty based on the theme ‘Creme de Ovos’. Public voting for the competition is conducted online.

The program includes various activities such as showcookings, workshops, and musical performances. Notable participants include Michelin-starred chef Diogo Rocha from Mesa de Lemos, who will perform a showcooking. Additionally, the event features a demonstration of the Pão de Ló de Ovar, presented by the guest participant Casa das Festas.
