Leivi completes innovative landslide mitigation works in Buggigo

In Leivi, the Buggigo area has seen the completion of hydrogeological risk mitigation and landslide consolidation works. Funded by the Liguria Region with 592,000 euros, the project addresses a critical issue that has persisted for over a decade.

The intervention utilized innovative technology for the first time in Liguria, involving high-resistance tie rods installed through perforations reaching depths of 32 meters and anchored to a reinforced concrete head. To monitor ground behavior, an optical fiber network was installed in collaboration with the University of Padua to detect even minimal movements.

Regional Councilor Giacomo Raul Giampedrone stated that the project combines structural intervention, geological expertise, and technological innovation to secure the inhabited area. Leivi Mayor Gabriele Pisani emphasized that citizen safety and territory protection remain the administration's absolute priorities.
