Lejla Njemčević clinches 22nd Bosnian mountain‑bike title after injury
Lejla Njemčević secured her 22nd national championship in the marathon discipline of mountain biking in Bosnia and Herzegovina, winning the XCM marathon title alongside Ivan Soldo. The race took place on the demanding 13‑km circuit at Bijela Voda near Goražde, organized by the local cycling club. Njemčević achieved the victory only weeks after being cleared by medical staff following a serious shoulder ligament injury sustained at the European Championships in Spain, where she fell on the 27th kilometre but still finished sixth overall in Europe.
Her recovery and win position her as a leading contender for upcoming international events, including the Cykelvasan race in Sweden and the World Championships scheduled for September in Italy. The national championship also highlighted the capacity of the Goražde club to host major domestic cycling competitions.
