Lejla Njemčević places fourth at Cykelvasan in Sweden

Bosnian cyclist Lejla Njemčević secured fourth place in the general classification and third place in the sprint classification at the Cykelvasan race in Sweden. During the 92-kilometer event, Njemčević spent much of the race at the front of the main group, setting the pace.

Despite being primarily a climber, Njemčević demonstrated significant strength on the flat course, finishing less than one second behind the riders who secured second and third place in a group sprint. This performance serves as preparation for her upcoming competition at the Balkan Championships, where she will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Her current training cycle is focused on the World Championships scheduled for September 12 in Italy. Unlike the flat profile of the Swedish race, the World Championship course will span 95 kilometers with a demanding 4,000-meter elevation gain, a profile that aligns with her specialty as a climbing specialist.
