Lejla Njemčević rises to eighth in UCI marathon rankings

Bosnian cyclist Lejla Njemčević has returned to the top ten of the UCI marathon ranking list, climbing four positions to reach eighth place. This advancement follows her dominant victory at the Balkan Championship, where she secured her sixth consecutive title, making her the most successful Balkan cyclist in history.

Njemčević earned 30 new UCI points from her championship performance. Despite facing challenges this season, including a shoulder injury during the European Championship where she finished sixth after a fall, she has maintained a high competitive level, including a third-place finish at the World Cup in Italy.

She is currently undergoing high-altitude training in preparation for the World Championships in Italy, scheduled for September 12.
