Lekki residents protest two-week power outage

Residents of Lekki Phase 1 are protesting a prolonged power outage that has lasted nearly two weeks following a transformer fault. The blackout has significantly disrupted local activities and imposed financial burdens on the community.

Affected residents reported that the outage has led to spoiled food items and increased expenditures on fuel for private generators. Local citizens have criticized the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) for negligence, poor communication, and a lack of clear plans regarding the repair of the transformer. Specifically, residents in the Alhaji Hakeem Odumosu Street area and surrounding parts of Lekki 1 have called for the urgent restoration of electricity supply.
