Mont Blanc climbed by nine-year-old Lelio Massimo di Roccasecca
Lelio Massimo di Roccasecca, a nine-year-old boy from Rome, successfully climbed Mont Blanc on September 4, reaching the 4,807-meter summit. Accompanied by his father, experienced mountaineer Valerio Massimo, the boy is reportedly the youngest person to have climbed the highest peak in the Alps through his own strength.
Following the ascent, the family celebrated at the Goûter Hut, located approximately 1,000 meters below the summit. Antoine Rattin, the hut keeper, confirmed the achievement. Lelio, who began climbing at age three, expressed his awe at the view of the mountains spanning Italy, France, and Switzerland.
Valerio Massimo, who has previously climbed Mount Everest, emphasized that the achievement was driven by his son's personal passion for the mountains rather than a pursuit of records. The family maintains a home in Chamonix, which serves as a base for their frequent mountain expeditions.
