Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan sees surge in research interest

The Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan (LPS) reported a significant increase in public interest regarding research into its duties and functions. During the LPS Call for Research 2026 (LPS CFR 2026) held in Bandung, more than 700 participants entered the competition, resulting in the selection of 35 finalists through a rigorous screening process.

LPS Chairman Anggito Abimanyu noted that this surge in participation from academics, researchers, and professionals reflects a growing enthusiasm for research in deposit insurance and the financial sector. This trend follows a steady upward trajectory in submissions, rising from 294 papers in 2024 to 402 in 2025, before reaching the current peak in 2026.

Abimanyu stated that the high level of engagement is a positive signal for strengthening the national research ecosystem, particularly concerning financial system stability and public trust. He expressed hope that the research findings would serve as practical input for LPS policies and contribute to national economic growth and welfare.
