Lemnos medical airlifts to be bolstered by private initiative

Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis met with businessman Pantelis Boubouras to discuss a new private initiative to enhance medical airlifts from the island of Lemnos. Through an agreement with a private insurance company, Boubouras has secured medical air transport for patients from Lemnos to major hospitals in Greece for the next three years.

The initiative is expected to improve health security for Lemnos residents by facilitating faster transport for those requiring specialized medical care. Additionally, the arrangement aims to alleviate the workload of the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAB), allowing its resources to be utilized more effectively for other islands.
