Lemon and Sugar Hand Exfoliation Gains Popularity in Greece

Two everyday kitchen ingredients—lemon and sugar—can be combined into a simple, natural hand scrub. Lemon supplies citric acid and vitamin C, while sugar provides a gentle abrasive that helps remove dead skin cells.

The mixture is said to leave hands smoother, neutralise strong food odors, reduce surface stains from sun or pigments, and offer antioxidant protection. Experts advise using the treatment about once a week, not as a replacement for regular soap and water, and not for daily use.

Application is straightforward: place a tablespoon of sugar in the palm, add a few drops of fresh lemon juice, massage the hands for one to two minutes, rinse with warm water, and finish with a moisturizer.
