Lemon peels as a natural household cleaning resource
Lemon peels can be repurposed for various household cleaning and deodorizing tasks. One method involves placing small pieces of fresh lemon peel, preferably the yellow outer skin with minimal pulp, inside bathroom trash cans to mask odors with a citrus scent. For this to be effective, the container should be emptied, cleaned with soap and water, and dried thoroughly before adding the peel.
Additionally, lemon peels can be combined with baking soda to create a homemade cleaning paste. By mixing chopped peels with two tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of water, a solution is formed that can remove superficial dirt from resistant surfaces, such as kitchen sinks. Users are advised to test the mixture on an inconspicuous area first to ensure it does not damage the surface, and to rinse the area well after application.
