Lemonade Irish drama premieres at Toronto International Film Festival

The Irish indie drama ‘Lemonade’, directed and written by Kim Bartley, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film follows Danny, a teenager raised in foster care who is navigating the transition to adulthood after being released from a juvenile detention system.

As Danny turns 18, he faces a looming court date regarding a crime he passively assisted in. The narrative explores his attempts to maintain stability while dealing with the absence of his younger brother, his anger toward his incarcerated mother, and a cautious reconciliation with his former social worker, Josh, played by Barry Keoghan. The film features performances by newcomer Lewis Brophy and Carla Tous.
