León advances water infrastructure and logistics projects
The city of León, Guanajuato, is advancing significant infrastructure and economic developments. The National Water Commission (Conagua) has approved a technical report for a nanotechnology project managed by SAPAL. This project, which has seen an investment of 1,275 million pesos, utilizes ultrafiltration and nanofiltration to treat wastewater for reuse in the city's supply system, aiming to add 400 liters per second to the network.
In a separate economic development, Amazon has announced a 12 million dollar investment to expand its logistics operations in León. Mayor Alejandra Gutierrez Campos stated that this expansion will introduce an innovative logistics model to the region and is expected to create new jobs, with completion targeted for next year.
Meanwhile, in Nuevo León, Governor Samuel García announced that the León Dam has begun supplying water. The infrastructure provides 1,600 liters per second, benefiting 350,000 residents directly and approximately 5.8 million people in the Monterrey Metropolitan Area. The dam is connected to the Linares–Monterrey Aqueduct to supply the San Roque Water Treatment Plant.
