León Cathedral hosts International Autumn Organ Festival
The International Autumn Organ Festival at the León Cathedral features a series of eight high-level organ concerts held every Friday at 20:00 until November 13. The festival highlights the cathedral's historic Klais organ and aims to strengthen the city's cultural agenda.
The lineup includes internationally recognized organists such as Thomas Ospital, Angela Metzger, Florian Rheitner, Juan de la Rubia, Enrique Martín-Laguna, and Diego Innocenzi. The festival will conclude on November 13 with a performance by French interpreter Alma Bettencourt, collaborating with the Orquesta Ibérica under the direction of Raúl Martínez Villanueva, performing Francis Poulenc’s Concerto for Organ and Orchestra.
A new feature for this edition is a video projection system installed in the Main Chapel to allow attendees to view the musicians directly. Additionally, guided tours of the cathedral's various organs are scheduled for October 3 and 30.
