León Governor inaugurates Bulevar Cañaveral to improve urban mobility

Governor Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo has officially inaugurated Bulevar Cañaveral in León, a new roadway designed to improve mobility in the eastern part of the city and reduce traffic congestion on Bulevar Aeropuerto.

The state government invested approximately 174 million pesos in the project, which connects Bulevar Vicente Valtierra with Bulevar Juan Alonso de Torres. The 1.5-kilometer stretch features six lanes—three in each direction—along with a central median, wide sidewalks, and a bike path to promote sustainable mobility.

According to Public Works Secretary Juan Pablo Pérez Beltrán, the infrastructure is expected to directly benefit more than 182,000 residents in the north and south zones of eastern León. The new route aims to provide faster and safer access to local hospitals, schools, universities, and commercial services, serving over 9,000 vehicles in the area.
