León hosts 31st Veterinary Congress with 25,000 attendees

The 31st edition of the Congreso Veterinario de León (CVDL) has commenced in León, Guanajuato, attracting more than 25,000 participants. The event brings together veterinarians, academics, entrepreneurs, and specialists from across Mexico and more than 15 countries.

Local and state authorities highlighted the event as a major driver for the regional economy. The tourism industry currently represents 8.1% of Guanajuato's GDP, with the meetings industry playing a fundamental role in this growth. For this edition, hotel occupancy in León reached nearly 98%, with organizers noting that only 2% of attendees are local residents.

The congress is estimated to generate an economic impact exceeding 400 million pesos, benefiting sectors such as hospitality, transportation, gastronomy, and entertainment services.
