León, Mexico, faces political allegations and service disruptions

Various local issues are impacting the city of León, Guanajuato. Morena councilman Guillermo Medina Plascencia has called for the resignation of Miguel Ángel Bosques Vera, the Director General of Social Development. Medina Plascencia alleges that residents have complained that social benefits and food aid are being conditioned on support for the Movimiento Ciudadano party, a group Bosques Vera represents as a municipal delegate.

Simultaneously, municipal council members have raised concerns regarding the aftermath of a hack on the Citizen Service System. Independent councilwoman Norma Patricia López reported that several municipal platforms, including those for urban development, economy, and appraisals, remain non-functional. This disruption is reportedly forcing citizens to conduct essential administrative procedures in person and delaying legal and notary processes.

In the private sector, the Association of Hotels and Motels of León reported a significant labor shortage. Eduardo Bujáidar Muñoz, president of the association, noted difficulties in retaining staff, particularly among younger workers who are often unwilling to commit to the industry's changing schedules. To address the deficit, the association organized a job fair involving 70 companies to fill vacancies across the hospitality and restaurant sectors.
