León railway: PP and Vox open to regional consortium for Feve urban section

The PP and Vox parliamentary groups in the Cortes of Castilla y León have expressed openness to the possibility of a consortium, driven by the regional government, taking over the urban section of the former Feve narrow-gauge railway in León. This initiative aims to integrate the line into the city, extending it to the Matallana station.

Following an abstention in a vote regarding a proposal by the UPL, the parties agreed to the creation of a technical committee. This committee will include representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Junta of Castilla y León, the León City Council, and the León Provincial Council to determine the most effective legal and technical framework for returning the train service to the center of León.

Political groups have also called on the Ministry of Transport to fulfill its obligation to maintain stable rail transport between the towns connected by Feve and the city center.
