León requests Liga MX schedule change for Pumas match

León manager Javier Gandolfi has submitted two requests to Liga MX to address player fatigue and scheduling conflicts. One primary request involves rescheduling León’s Matchday 7 fixture against Pumas, currently set for September 6.

The club seeks to move the match to September 16 to allow players sufficient recovery time following extensive travel for the Leagues Cup. Gandolfi highlighted the physical toll of 9-to-10-hour trips, emphasizing the need to prioritize player integrity amidst a dense calendar.

León is currently focused on a midweek match against Toluca, which could secure their place in the Leagues Cup 2026 final and a spot in the next Concachampions tournament.
