León Summer Courses 2026 Offer Historical and Aquatic Programs

The University of León is hosting a summer course titled “Urraca I and her reign: from global history to rural heritage” on July 30‑31 in Villadangos del Páramo and Sahagún. The program includes scholarly lectures on Queen Urraca, the medieval Battle of Villadangos, and the medieval textile and costume heritage, as well as practical workshops on medieval attire and the Romanesque art of the Sahagún monastery.

At the same time, COMUDE León is running its 2026 Summer Courses focused on aquatic recreation. Activities take place in the Ángel Camacho and Antonio Tota Carbajal pools, offering swimming, water‑based games and sports for children from across the city and surrounding rural areas. The events celebrate León’s 450th anniversary and feature appearances by local Olympic athletes such as boxer Samuel Álvarez and basketball legend Arturo Guerrero.
