León to host LXII National Medical-Surgical Week in 2026

León will host the LXII National Medical-Surgical Week in 2026, bringing together surgical specialists for more than 80 conferences from September 17 to 19 at the Poliforum. Organizers expect up to 1,500 attendees.

José Ángel Córdova Villalobos, president of the Mexican Academy of Surgery, stated that the event will gather the country's surgical elite. The academic program will cover various health issues, including orthopedic updates regarding traffic accidents, cervical cancer diagnosis, pediatric surgical problems, thyroid surgery, and organ transplants.

A significant focus will be placed on robotic surgery, a technology used in both public and private medical units. Officials noted that robotic assistance enhances precision by amplifying the visual field and reducing human tremors, thereby increasing safety and reducing the risk of error during complex interventions.
