Lena announces 64th International Short Story Prize

The Lena City Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of the Principality of Asturias, has announced the 64th edition of the L. Lena International Short Story Prize. The competition features two distinct categories: an international category and a youth category.

The international prize is valued at 3,000 euros. The youth category is specifically for residents of Asturias aged between 10 and 14, offering a 400-euro voucher for school supplies to be used at local businesses.

Submissions may be written in either Spanish or Asturian and must be previously unpublished works. The international category requires stories to be between four and eight A4 pages, while the youth category requires between one and three pages. Participants must submit one original and five copies under a pseudonym, accompanied by a sealed envelope containing their personal details. The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2027.
