Lena Moreno wins silver at Muju Grand Prix taekwondo tournament

Spanish taekwondo athlete Lena Moreno Reyes has secured a silver medal at the Muju Grand Prix in South Korea, one of the sport's most prestigious G6 category tournaments.

Moreno reached the final after winning four consecutive matches with dominant 2-0 round scores. Her path to the podium included victories over former world champion Leslie Soltero, highly ranked Chinese athlete Jie Song, Russian junior standout Anastasiia Bannova, and Croatian competitor Dora Mestrovic.

In the final match against China's Jiani Xing, Moreno initially controlled the tempo and the center of the ring. However, after a competitive battle that went to a third decisive round, Xing managed a comeback to claim the gold. This silver medal performance follows Moreno's previous bronze at the Wuxi World Championships and is expected to significantly impact her international ranking and potential qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
