Bundesliga: Leverkusen and Hoffenheim secure key victories
In Bundesliga action, Bayer Leverkusen secured a 2-1 comeback victory against SC Freiburg. Derry Scherhant opened the scoring for Freiburg in the 14th minute, but Ibrahim Maza equalized for Leverkusen in the 19th minute. Patrik Schick scored the winning goal in the 76th minute, making him the first Leverkusen player to score in each of the first six matches of a single Bundesliga season. This result keeps Leverkusen in contention near the top of the table.
In a separate match, TSG Hoffenheim defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1. Bambasé Conté scored early for Hoffenheim, and although Wael Mohya equalized for Gladbach in the 49th minute, Alexander Prass secured the win for the visitors in the 54th minute. The loss leaves Borussia Mönchengladbach without a single point so far this season.
