Lenovo rolls out new IdeaPad 5 2‑in‑1 with Intel Panther Lake and adds Chinese YMTC SSDs to its laptops

Lenovo has begun installing 512 GB YMTC (Yangtze Memory Technologies) PCIe 4.0 SSDs in its ThinkBook 14 G9 IPL laptops. Benchmarks show sequential speeds of about 3.9 GB/s read and 2.5 GB/s write, sufficient for typical office tasks but below premium competitor performance.

The company also launched the IdeaPad 5 2‑in‑1 14IPH11 globally. Powered by Intel’s new Panther Lake Core Ultra 5 322 or Core Ultra 7 355 processors, the convertible offers up to 32 GB DDR5 RAM, two M.2 SSD slots (2242 and 2280), Wi‑Fi 6 or Wi‑Fi 7, and a 14‑inch IPS display (1920 × 1200, 400 nits). It is now sold in the United Kingdom, Euro‑zone markets and the United States, with prices from £999/€899 to $1,275 depending on configuration.

In addition, Lenovo listed a high‑end Yoga Pro 15 model on JD.com featuring an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 388 processor, 64 GB LPDDR5X RAM, 1 TB SSD, a 15.3‑inch 165 Hz OLED panel and Wi‑Fi 7. Pricing details are pending, with a release expected shortly.
