Lenovo powers FIFA World Cup 2026 with AI‑driven broadcast and fan technologies
Lenovo, the official technology partner of FIFA, supplied AI‑based hardware and software for the 2026 World Cup held across three host nations. The company deployed more than 25,000 Lenovo and Motorola devices, staffed over 350 engineers, and maintained 99.99% system availability across 600 FIFA locations, including stadiums, transmission centers and team bases.
The AI‑powered "Referee View" camera, mounted on match officials, provided a first‑person perspective that was stabilised in real time, reducing camera jitter by up to 60% and delivering smooth footage to broadcasters in more than 220 territories. Fan surveys in Australia, Canada, India, the United Kingdom and the United States showed that 87% felt technology improved their viewing experience, with 84% appreciating the close‑to‑action perspective.
Lenovo also introduced the FIFA AI Pro platform, an artificial‑intelligence analysis tool made available to all 48 participating teams, supporting on‑field decisions, officiating technology and broader fan engagement initiatives.
